Ena Mae Moyer, was born in Crystal Springs, Kansas on December 15, 1929 as the firstborn child of Ora John (O. J.) and Dorothy Ruth (Howell) Troyer. In 1943, the Troyer family moved to Argonia where Ena Mae met S. Jay Moyer as a freshman in high school. They were married in the Argonia Methodist Church, June 6, 1948. They became parents to four children: Michael Lynn, Jacqueline DeAnne, Christina Kay, and Steven Craig. Ena Mae and Jay established their first home in Wichita, Kansas before returning to Argonia in 1955. Ena Mae was gloriously reunited with Jay on Friday, July 22, 2016, as she exchanged this life for her eternal one in heaven. The creed that embodied Ena Mae and Jay throughout their lives that continues to serve as a testimony today is engraved on their memorial headstone: "Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. . but as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD" Joshua 24:15. The celebration of Ena Maes life will be held Saturday, July 30, 2:00 p.m. at the Argonia Plains Church with pastor Kirk Taylor officiating. Ena Mae is survived by her four children, Mike (son) and Deb (Tatum) Moyer of Oskaloosa, Iowa; Jacque (daughter) and Dudley Strickland, Brookeville, Maryland; Chris (daughter) and Tim Peppard, Cheney, Kansas; and Steve (son) and Llewellyn (McCoy) Moyer, Almont, Michigan. Ena Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Jay, both her parents, and brothers, James and Don. She will be sorely missed by 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Memorials may be given in honor of Ena Maes life to Heart Ministries, Inc. or Argonia Plains Church. Downing & Lahey Mortuary West.
