Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
Dear Betty and Family, We are so deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Fred. Our prayers are with you. May God wrap his loving arms around you at this time of sadness and help you to be strong knowing that your loved one is with Him. We love you, Gene and Alana Horton
Grandad Griner was very special to our family. He and Grandma Griner have always made it a priority to keep up with their family way over in TN. Because of this, our children were able to know their grandfather and have special memories of him. Grandad Griner was a great example of a hardworker, and of someone who knew how to relax on vacation. You could tell on his visits with us that he loved being around his family. He would often be seen relaxing and just enjoying watching the ‘busyness’ of everyone else. He enjoyed talking politics with Mike over dinner. He also enjoyed good food and wine and we got to enjoy some of his good cooking. Grandad and Grandma Griner have always struck me as the perfect balance for eachother, which is why they were married for 37 years. What a feat in this day and time! You knew Grandad valued Grandma’s advice and suggestions because he always did them, even if at first you did not think he would. They complimented eachother. Grandad Griner always complimented his grandchildren and Mike and I on our family. I think one thing we will all miss the most are his great hugs. He was a tall and strong man and gave great hugs. We loved him and love Grandma Griner very much. All of our family is in our prayers.
Our Family has had the honor and pleasure of knowing Fred, or Freddie as some deemed him for the last 20 some years. For some of us that has been our whole life. We have shared many outings, occasions, and Holidays together. These last few weeks Betty and Fred have taught us how to live our lives to the fullest. Fred let each of us known in his own way how much he appreciated us, even though he was in great pain to do so. We will miss Freds quiet presence and wonderfully dry humor, but we will never forget him. For one of us he was our closest and dearest of friends, and unofficial ‘Brother’.

I didn’t know Uncle Fred very well, but when he and Aunt Betty would come to Southeast Missouri to visit it was easy to see that he was a man of good character. I’m still in Iraq so I’ll be unable to attend the services. I love you Aunt Betty and our pryers are with you and your family. And thank you for always being so kind to me. Jackie E. Peters
Fred was the dearest and nicest brother we could ever ask for. Since Martha doesn’t email, I’m sending this for both of us. Jon and Don (our husbands) and we will miss him so much.
Steve: Sorry to hear about the passing of you father. I will keep you in my prayers. Jim Kater
