Gaynelle H. McCloskey, 86, Retired First Grade Teacher at Caldwell Elementary School, died Saturday, November 3, 2018. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am, Friday, November 9, 2018, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, Wichita, KS. Graveside Service will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Bartlesville, OK. Gaynelle received an undergraduate degree from Hardin-Simmons University, her graduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and continuing education from Wichita State University. She enjoyed reading and teaching Sunday School. Preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Vincent McCloskey; parents, Lonnie and Lorene Holcomb. Survived by her sons, Lance Blaine McCloskey, Shawn Evan McCloskey, both of Wichita, KS. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with: Cooperative Program Southern Baptist Convention c/o Metropolitan Baptist Church, 525 W. Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS 67213. Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.

Nelle taught me AND my kids in Sunday School. I am thankful for the legacy she leaves behind and her faithful years of service.
I enjoyed attending missionary meetings with her. She was an awesome lady. My sympathy to all the family.

Lance & Shawn, I was sad to see this. When I didnt get a Christmas card, I knew something was wrong. She was the greatest lady, and my family treasured her greatly. So sorry.
