George Earl Lyon

George Earl Lyon, 91, retired from the Veterans Administration of Wichita, as Chief Appraiser and Property Manager, died Monday, December 19, 2022. Visitation 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, Service 1:00 pm, both at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary, followed by Graveside Service, 2:00 pm, Resthaven Cemetery, all on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. Preceded in death by his parents, Leander and Maybelle Lyon; brothers, James, John, Joe, Jerome; sisters, Mary, Janette all from Anderson, SC. Survived by his wife, Mary K. Lyon; daughters, Gwendolyn (Don) Rasmussen, Audrey Lyon, Teryl Brooks; son, Bradley (Endee) Lyon; brother, Gerald Lyon of Anderson, SC; granddaughters, Shawna Grambo, Stacy Woolley, Lauren Anderson, Kelsey Anderson; grandson, Corey Lyon; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild. Memorials have been established with: Wichita Children's Home, 7271 E. 37th St. N., Wichita, KS 67226, and Phoenix Home Care & Hospice, 3450 N. Rock Road, Bldg. 200, Suite 213, Wichita, KS 67226.
