Henry Camacho Flores, Jr.

Henry Camacho Flores, Jr., 63, died Sunday, January 12, 2025. Henry was born February 2, 1961, in Tamuning, Guam to Henry and Elpidia Flores, which precede him. He is survived by his loving wife, Antonia Flores; his son, Henry Flores, III and daughter-in-law, Nobilee Flores; his daughter, Angelina Pangelinan and son-in-law, Alec Pangelinan; and his cherished grandchildren, Naveah Flores, Henry Flores, IV, Luca Pangelinan and Nehemiah Flores. Henry, a distinguished law enforcement professional with over 23 years of dedicated service and proud United States Marine Corps veteran, leaves behind a remarkable legacy in public safety. Following his honorable service in the Marine Corps in his younger days, he embarked on a lifelong career in public service. As a Police Sergeant with the Guam Police Department and later as a Community Service Police Officer with the Wichita Police Department until his retirement, he demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing and training teams of up to 12 police officers while conducting vital criminal investigations. Throughout his career, he specialized in crime scene investigation, evidence collection, and crisis negotiation, earning recognition for his skill in building investigative teams and ensuring regulatory compliance. His commitment to community-oriented policing and ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds made him an invaluable asset to both departments. Prior to his extensive police career, he served with the Transportation Security Administration and the Navy Exchange Security Office. Mr. Flores was known for his dedication to professional development, having completed specialized training in hostage negotiation, criminal investigation, and team building, while pursuing criminal justice studies at Guam Community College. His legacy lives on through the many officers he mentored and the countless lives he touched through his service to the communities of both Guam and Wichita. When not dedicated to his law enforcement duties, Henry was first and foremost a family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. A homebody at heart, he found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life - watching movies with his family gathered around and losing himself in the melodies of his favorite music while relaxing at home. Despite his distinguished career serving the communities of Guam and Wichita, Henry maintained a humble and down-to-earth nature, finding true contentment in these quiet moments of domestic life. His commitment to both his family and community service exemplified his character, demonstrating that even the strongest protectors of the community could also be the gentlest of family men. Henry was a loving, courageous and selfless man and will be missed greatly. A memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Monday, January 20, 2025, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
