James "Buck" Buchanan

James " Buck" Buchanan, 73, Owner and Operator of Buchanan Pest Control, died Thursday, May 16, 2024. No services planned at this time. Buck was small in stature but big in heart. He respected and was respectful to everyone regardless of their station in life. He graduated from WSU with a BA in Journalism. However, his interview with the Wichita Eagle Beacon led him to apply for a landman position with Hamrick Oil. He loved the job and did it well. Buck loved music and could tell you the name of the band and who was doing the vocals and from what year. He gained his love of music from his mom and the Beatles. We both loved professional car racing and enjoyed many years attending the Laguna Seca race in Monterey CA and was able to attend the first Formula 1 Race at the Austin Grand Prix. Unfortunately, the last eight years did not allow for travel, we still followed all the races on TV. I love him so much and will miss him dearly, however I take solace in the fact that he is no longer in pain and is at peace. Preceded in death by his parents, Jack, Sr. and Hazel Buchanan; brothers, Jack and Jerry Buchanan; niece, Luann Buchanan. Survived by his partner, Donna Preston; nieces, Vicki Lynn Gillenwater, Jill Wilkinson.A memorial has been established with: TOP School c/o The Opportunity Project, 1625 N.
