James Dunsworth, 67, of Augusta, Kansas passed away on June 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
James was born on April 7, 1959, to Ewell and Sheila Dunsworth, and he lived a life defined by hard work and devotion to those he loved. A gifted mechanic and craftsman, he had a reputation among his family and friends as someone who could build or fix nearly anything.
His ultimate pride though, was the family he cherished so deeply. James married the love of his life, Michelle, in 1998. Together, they built a life centered on love, loyalty and gratitude. He was a devoted husband, proud father, and adoring grandfather, whose greatest joy came from watching his family grow, thrive, and have fun.
James is survived by his loving wife, Michelle, his son’s, Bobby (Stacy) Dunsworth and Jacob (Kelsey) Dunsworth; his grandchildren, Raelynn and Dalton Dunsworth; his sister, Kathy (Tim) Ayres; and his brother, Ewell (Christine) Dunsworth Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewell and Sheila Dunsworth.
Those who knew James will remember his unwavering work ethic, practical wisdom, and willingness to help. Though he will be missed, his legacy continues in these values he passed down, taught to his children and grandchildren by example.
James was cremated according to his wishes. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date with details to be announced by his family.
