James M. "Jim" Weldon

James M. Weldon, 86, Retired Insurance Agent, died Monday, January 20, 2025.
Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 23, 2025; Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Friday, January 24, 2025, both at Church of the Magdalen Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Barbara (Brown) Weldon; brothers, William Weldon and Alan Weldon.
Survived by his children, Rev. Eric M. Weldon of South Hutchinson, KS, Stephanie A. (Robert) Johnston of Denver, CO, Rev. James F. Weldon of Andale, KS, Ann-Marie K. (Justin) Thompson of Wichita; brother, Patrick Weldon of Denver, CO.
Jim graduated from Chaplain Kapaun Memorial High School (CKM) 1957 and St. Benedict’s College 1961. Commissioned 2nd Lt US Air Force Reserve 1963 and served 24 years in the AF Reserve (2 years active duty) retiring at the rank of Major. Jim was also a Knight of Columbus, and had been a member of SERTOM International and Wichita Jaycees.
A memorial has been established with the Church of the Magdalen Catholic School, 12626 E. 21st St. N., Wichita, KS 67206.

To the entire Jim Weldom family: Jim was a great comrade to work with in the Kansas Air National Guard in Wichita. He was as always ready for a lot of great conversations whom he worked with. Eternal Rest Grant upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen

Jim was my step-brother. A very kind, reserved and thoughtful man. He loved his family deeply. May he rest now in peace.
