Maish, Sr., J.D., 85, retired Texaco Refinery shift supervisor, passed away Monday, December 7, 2009. Visitation with the family will be 6:00 ~ 7:30 p.m., Friday, December 11 with service 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 12, both at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo (Gladson) and parents, Donie and Nerine Maish. Survivors: son, Jimmie D.(Paula) Maish, Jr. of Wichita; daughter, Donna L. Kichler (Darrel) of Towanda, KS; brother, Terry D. Maish of Kuttawa, KY; grandchildren, Amy Jo Carlyle (Drake), Don Robert Maish, Kevin M. Kichler and Kara M. Kichler (Travis Nutsch); great-grandchild, Archie. Memorials have been established with the Towanda Library, 620 Highland, Towanda, KS, 67144 and USS Alabama, P.O. Box 65, Mobile, AL, 36601 Visitation with the family will be 6:00 ~ 7:30 p.m., Friday, December 11 at Downing Lahey Mortuary East.

  1. Jim and Donna, I was saddened to learn of your dad’s passing. I always enjoyed chatting with him when I would see him at the hospital. He’ll be missed.

They were two of the finest people I have every had the privilege of knowing. I know the heartache of losing a parent, it has been twelve years since the death of mine.   4. We were so sorry to hear about J.D.. He was past president of the Kansas Second Chance chapter of the Kansas Good Sam club. We knew he was a good person by the way he was so helpful to his wife, Betty Jo. We will miss him as a friend and a good member of Good Sam. We plan to attend his services. Bernie & Phyllis Elrod
