John “Jack” E. Turner, 104, Retired Mail Carrier in Lindsborg, died Thursday, February 9, 2023. During WWII, he served in the Army Air Corp from 1942-1945. He was born in Chicago, IL on June 26, 1918 to John and Zella Turner, who precede him in death. He survived the 1918 and 2020 pandemics. He married Isla Rose Hagstrand on March 21, 1944, who also precedes him in death. He had resided in Wichita since 2011.Jack is survived by his sons, James (Jan) Turner of Lindsborg, Hal (Michele) Turner of Urbandale, IA, Keith (Wanda) Turner of Delta, BC, Canada; daughter, Susan (Michael, M.D.) Mueller of Wichita; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way.Memorials have been established with Bethany Lutheran Church, and Bethany Home, Lindsborg, KS.Cremation has taken place. Services pending Summer of 2023.Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.

  1. Tom and I were blessed to know Jack. Jack was so sharp and engaged with life and family. Tom was impressed with Jack’s skill with remote control helicopters and airplanes, and Tom found out the expensive way that it there is a LOT of skill involved with that hobby!
    He was a bright light on earth, now he is a bright light in heaven. On to your next adventure Jack!
