Solomon, Lorraine Farris, 89, homemaker, died Monday, February 20, 2006. Graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 23, Old Mission Cemetery. Lorraine was born November 21, 1916 in Oklahoma City to Zekia Massad and Merhige Farris. She is survived by her sister, Marquita Hilt of San Diego, stepsons, Karl Solomon and Dr. Frank Solomon, Jr., step-daughter, Rose Petersen of Eagle Rock, MO, grandson, Mark Solomon of Wichita, goddaughter, Suzanne Payne of Oklahoma City, nieces and nephews, of Oklahoma City, Wichita, Goddard and Tulsa and eight step-grandchildren, all of Wichita. Lorraine worked as a secretary at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City during WWII, and later did volunteer hospital service in Wichita. A homemaker and devoted member of St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Frank R. Solomon of Wichita, founder of Solomon Candy Company and baseball team, Solomon Candy Kids; and her brothers of Oklahoma City, Dr. Edward Farris, Bruce Farris, Dr. Emil Farris and Col. Victor Paul Farris. Memorials to: St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral, 7515 E. 13th, Wichita, KS, 67206. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
