Marsha Ebaugh

Marsha Jan Ebaugh, 73, died Saturday, June 3, 2017. Marsha was born to Max and Peggy Jones Ebaugh in Champaign-Urbana, IL during WWII; they preceded her in death. She moved back to McPherson, KS with her parents after the war, eventually moving to Lindsborg with her family to begin Fifth Grade. Marsha made her home in Wichita after graduating from KU in 1967. Her career was as diverse as her interests. A common thread in her work, curiosity and volunteerism was helping individuals to improve their lives. At Oblinger-Smith, that meant better housing and improved small cities through federal grants. As an adjunct faculty member at Butler County Community College, Marsha had the chance to help adult students improve math and reading skills so they could meet college entrance requirements. Besides a deep love for her family, Marsha treasured Mother Earth and all of her creatures. She was introduced to birding as a hobby in high school and continued as an avid birder throughout her life. She has been her familys go-to person for identifying plant and animal life and taught us respect for the wonders on earth and far beyond. Marsha is survived by her sister, Camille Ebaugh Kluge of Wichita, brother, Brent Ebaugh of Divide, CO; nephews, David Kluge, MD of Great Falls, MT, Noah Kluge of Wichita, Dustin Ebaugh of Las Vegas, NV, Josh Ebaugh of Colorado Springs, CO, Lucas Ebaugh, DMD of Austin, TX; 5 grandnieces and 8 grandnephews. Memorials have been established with Wichita Audubon Society, PO Box 47607, Wichita, KS 67201 or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S Market, Wichita, KS 67202. Downing & Lahey Mortuary East.
