Loeffler, Maureen Mary, 93, retired Veterans Administration dietary department employee, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Rosary, 7 p.m., Friday, June 3, Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m., Saturday, June 4, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Preceded in death by parents, Bernard and Johanna (Robl) Doll; brothers, Walter, Alvin and Gilbert; sisters, Margaret and Alfreda; half-brothers, Roland, Irvin and Gerald; half-sister, Elsie. Survivors: husband, Albert; children, Peggy Label (David) of Bothell, WA, Carol Lentz-Smith (Jerry) of Wichita; brothers, L.J. Doll of Clearwater, Gene and Bert Doll of California; grandchildren, Dustin, Carlie, Ashley and Valerie; great-grandchildren, Aden, Olivia, Selah, John Silas, Miles Vincent and Briana. Memorials established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202 and Wichita Childrens Home, 810 N. Holyoke, Wichita, KS 67208.

It was a privilege to know Maureen. Her sense of humor was entertaining. Her spirit so strong under very difficult circumstances. She set a very high standard for others to follow. My sincere condolences to Al and their children.

Dear Carol, I was your Tuesday morning volunteer in the Surgery Waiting Room at St. Teresa’s. I am so sorry to hear that your mother passed away. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to make it to the funeral this morning to give you a big hug. Peace be with you!
Dear Al, Carol, Dustin, Ashley & family, We just heard about the loss of your wife, mom and grandmother. We are so sad for your loss. We know she will be greatly missed–You were very fortunate to have her in your lives for so long. We are so saddened by the passing of Maureen—but we have been so truly blessed to have enjoyed her the past 13 years–many laughs and hugs when I think of her and her quick wit! Thanks for sharing her with us–all of you will be in our hearts and prayers!
