Melissa Marie Missy Whalen

Melissa “Missy” Marie Whalen, 43, of Wichita, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014. She was born October 23, 1971. Missy was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a dear friend to many. She gave selflessly and without abandon and her kindness brought joy to all those in her life. Missy was known for her smile, her infectious laugh, and her loyalty. She was a graduate of Wichita State University and worked as a paralegal at Hutton and Hutton Law Firm for her entire career. Missy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ruth Johnson, Miglorie and Etta Whalen, and her brother, Tommy Whalen. Survivors include parents, Margaret and Richard Whalen, sister, Katie Ruder (Mark), brother, Chris Whalen (Jen), grandfather, Bob Johnson, nieces, Ella Ruder and Izzy Mull, and nephews, Ryan and Sean Whalen, Hank and Ben Ruder, and Jonah Mull, and her beloved dogs, Dottie and Libby.
