Michael Brooks Carlisle, 71, retired Orthopedic and Artificial Limbs Operations Manager, died Friday, April 5, 2024. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm, at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. Preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Edith Carlisle; brother, Thomas Carlisle. Survived by his sister, Linda D. (Gordon) Zeigler of San Antonio, TX; nephews, Chuck Zeigler, Brian Carlisle, Chad Carlisle; niece, Bonnie Anderson. A memorial has been established with: Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1958 N. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS 67206.

Michael & I have been friends since the 7th grade in Eldorado. Hanging together in Jr High, getting in trouble at the United Methodist Church where we were Boy Scouts due to “Ice Cream Gate” (a private joke), slaloming the hash mark lane dividers on the turnpike in his ’58 Corvette & then finding out he needed a complete front end rebuild a week later! LOL!! Planning to meet up at Emporia State which unfortunately didn’t work out, but he went on & joined the Air Force. We kept in contact thru the years & met up again recently as I chauffeured him to the VA for treatments. Mike was a good person. Rest peacefully my friend.
Rest Michael, until you hear at dawn, the low, clear reveille of God. Thank you for your service to this nation. U.S. Military.
