Michael “Mike” Standiford 62, was received into the arms of Jesus, Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Visitation with the family, 5-8 p.m., Friday, November 2, Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. A Home Going Celebration will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, November 3 at First United Methodist Church, 330 N. Broadway in Wichita. A lunch will follow in Meredith Hall at the church. Those wanting a drive in the country are welcome to join the family for the Graveside Service which will commence at 2:30 p.m. in Dexter Cemetery, Dexter, KS. Mike was the owner of a local business: Axle and Wheel Aligning Company. He was born in May of 1956 and lived with his wife and son in Wichita. He was a graduate of Wichita North High, attended Seward County Community College and graduated from Friends University. Mike played baseball at both Seward County and Friends and coached Little League baseball at Westurban in Wichita. He loved hunting as many days as possible, fishing and working at the family farm in Dexter. Mike was blessed with family, friends, great dogs and a quiet loving spirit for God. Preceding Mike in death were his uncles, Robert “Bob” and R.D. “Butch” Standiford; his aunt, Mary Ann Palmer; grandparents, Clara and C.S. Somerville of Copeland and Marjorie M. and E.L. “Tobe” Standiford of Winfield. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; son Cody Standiford; parents, Pat and Larry Standiford; siblings, Marsha (Bill) Campbell, Mark (Renee) Standiford and Michelle (Kelly) Zane; brother-in-law, Patrick (Debbie) Kennedy; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and a loving extended family. A memorial has been established with First United Methodist Church TV Ministry, 330 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202.

  5. Mike was one of my neighborhood friends throughout all my school years. Very nice person and a humble guy. I was blessed to know him. Prayers and strength is wished to all of the family.

  6. Mike was the strongest man I knew, not only in strength but had the power to make a difference in everyones life he met. He was my best man at my wedding, he called it the wedding of the century. Larry his father walked my bride down the hill at the M&M ranch. I will miss him terribly. Kathryn and family, Mike is now in the arms of the angels and our loving Father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

  7. Mike!!! Bud u are a wonderful person to know. You made us laugh. I cant believe this and dont believe this, expecially when I got the message and told you were gone I had to cry. We got close to you and we helped you through rough and happy times. We miss seeing you and helping you. Even though you had your stubborn side you still let me and kendra help you. Bud your not hurting anymore and god picked you cause your a awsome person to know. Please watch over everyone. Fly high Mike you will be truly missed its never a good bye its see you later.

  15. I was blessed to be able to care for Mike for a little over a year. Such a hard working, dedicated, loving, funny, and determined man. We would hang out and watch hunting shows, and he taught me so many things. Im thankful to have got to know Mike and his family. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.   16. My memories of mike began when we played baseball together for Foleys team around 10yrs old. In high school we competed, mike at North, i went to carroll. We were team mates at Seward county. Mike was the catcher and i pitched. Those were good ol days. Mike was a good player,but most importantly he was a better person. Rest in peace buddy.

  17. Our prayers are with the family during this difficult time of loss. Mike helped coach our son Zippy in baseball. We had some fun years together.
