Robert Gerard Carpentier

Robert Gerard Carpentier passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the age of 79. He was born in Troyes, France to Robert Emile Carpentier and Suzanne Jeanne Prieur on August 20, 1943. Robert was married to Pat (French) Carpentier for 15 years. He retired as a truck driver in 2005. He had 43 years of sobriety. He was very active in AA and enjoyed sponsoring others in the program to help them in their road to recovery. In his younger years, Robert loved hunting, shooting, and fishing, riding his motorcycle, and driving around the country in his semi. Even through all his hardships, Robert was known for his big smile, loud laugh, and great hugs. He was especially ornery and liked to joke around. Family was important to him, and he loved spending time with them. Robert had a positive impact on those around him and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff at Family Health and Rehab for their kindness, care, and making Robert smile in the last few months of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Raymond Meyer; and brother, Pierre Carpentier. He is survived by his daughters, Raelynn Pfaff (Dave), Tara Carpentier (Temple Childs), Kolinda Carpentier (Willie Williams); former wife, Pat Carpentier; siblings, Regine Debrie, Jeanine Schoelcher, Bill Meyer (Marianne), Bonnie Miller, Joyce Poskey (Dave), David Meyer (Leslie), Kenny Meyer, Jim Meyer; grandchildren, Dorrian, Dedrick, Shakora, Hunter, Jaylan, Timothy, Jaquez, Kennedy, Janesia, and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary.
