Robert W. Penrod

Robert W. Penrod, 65, Retired Supervisor for KDOT died Sunday, March 5, 2017. Memorial Service will be at 3:00 P.M., Friday, March 10, 2017 at Downing and Lahey East Mortuary in Wichita, KS. Preceded in death by his son, Gregory A. Penrod; father, Bill Joe Penrod; mother, Hannah Jama Hedgecock; sisters, Karen Hillhouse and Marylin Hunter. Survived by his wife, Sharri Penrod of Wichita; brothers, Dale (Becky) Corley of Hutchinson, KS, Joseph Penrod of Gravois Mills, MO; sisters, Hester (Dale) McMurphy of Hutchinson, KS, Beverly Newman of Fremont, NE; sister-in-law, Carol Hanselman of Ephrata, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was a Vietnam veteran. His hobbies were wood turning, furniture refinishing, auctions, “living to ride his Harley” and rescuing stray animals. Robert was a friend to many and respected by all.
