Sara Horstmann, 76, Retired Medical Technologist, Wife, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, died Monday, March 20, 2023.Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.Sara was born and raised in Wichita, graduating from Mount Carmel and Wichita State. She then moved to California where she met the love of her life and spent most of her adult years with stops in New Mexico and Texas along the way. Retiring and moving to Kansas brought lots of golf, travel and family time.Sara had a contagious laugh and a smile that could fill the room. She was the life of a party and a friend to all who knew her.Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Marion Sweeney; brother, Tom Sweeney.Survived by her husband of 45 years, Ken; beloved dog, Nellie; sister, Mary Comparetto; brothers, Mike (Betsy) Sweeney, Joe (Cathy) Sweeney; sister-in-law, Carol Sweeney; brothers-in-law, Terry (Charlene) and Tim (Lynn) Horstmann.Memorials have been established with: Dress for Success Wichita, 510 E. 3rd St. N., Wichita, KS 67202; The Lord's Diner 520 N.
