  1. She was such a beautiful soul. What started out as a caregiver quickly turned into so much more, a beautiful friendship and eventually she called us soul sisters. She told me she always wanted a little sister and I was it. God blessed me with the honor of being by her side for the past 4 years. She brought so much joy to my life. I loved every minute I had with her. I didn’t know the Sheila that most knew as I came into her life after she went blind. Her love for me was pure and unconditional, such a gift. She was so funny, so smart, so talented, so loving and so humble. The strength she showed every day was incredible. She had so many trials and she never complained. She always told me “what good does it do?” I learned so much from her. We had so much fun together. She loved Harry Potter so I got her a t-shirt for her birthday and we decided that it was her cool grandma shirt! Lol! She loved her family with all her heart and fought hard until her last breath. I will love you always and forever sweet soul sister. Pinky swear! It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later sweetheart!

  2. I have so many memories…. Even though I knew her in her later life. She was so accomplished in many ways. I was closest with her when she was loosing her sight. It was so profoundly sad to go through that experience with her. Even though she was scared, she handled it with so much grace. I learned about diabetes from her. Another huge life lesson and a illness she lived with and handled with grace. She never complained. She shared her life challenges and heartaches with a perspective I needed to learn from. My life is forever changed from our friendship. Rest in peace sweet friend …. Until we meet again in paradise 💕

  3. I only knew Sheila thru her husband Tom. I know she was truly love by Tom and her children. Praying for them during this time.

  4. My prayers and condolences to Tom and all of Sheila’s family. Sheila was a beautiful, caring lady. We were classmates all through kindergarten and H.S. It was a joy to see her and visit her at our class reuions.

  5. Dear Tom,
With sadness, Judy and I read of Sheila’s passing. We send our deepest sympathy. I miss seeing you at our monthly KSOK meetings.

  6. Sheila is one of a few people I have known the longest in my life as we were in Sunday School together and were friends all through K-12 in our small Iowa town. Sitting across from her in Kindergarten I always wished that I could color as beautifully as she did! Well, she always did everything perfectly but was also always gentle and kind. My condolences to all her family.

  7. Dear Tom and family,
We are saddened to hear of Sheila’s passing. We have such wonderful memories with her! She was such a sweet lady! Sheila always had a positive response and saw the good in everyone! Her crafts of sewing and cooking were outstanding and she shared with others with love! Her kindness was ever present! She proudly shared stories of Todd and family, and Leslie and family! Rest in peace good friend!
