SPC Dylan A Pritchard - US Army 23, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020. Service will be held at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West, 10515 West Maple, Wichita KS 67209, on Tuesday November 17th, 2020, at 2:00pm. Service will be Live Streamed here, at www.dlwichita.com, by clicking "Tribute Wall," then the "Watch Now" button inside of the gold "Live Webcast" box. Dylan graduated from Derby High School where he was a member of Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) for three years. He held a Red Belt in Taekwondo at Grandmaster Blair's Dojo in Corydon, Indiana. Dylan enjoyed helping people. He had the biggest heart of anyone we know. He would give a stranger the shirt off his back, and often donated both his time and money to others. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved animals, nature and was active in blacksmithing before attending basic training with the United States Army at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. He served his AIT in Fort Eustis in Virginia where he graduated at the top of his class with distinguished honors. He was trained as an Apache, Blackhawk and Chinook mechanic. Dylan has been promoted to the rank of Specialist posthumously. Survivors: parents, Dean and Tracy Pritchard of Haysville; brother, Ryker Pritchard; grandparents, Jerry and Darlene Pritchard of Wichita, David and Carolyn Rowland of Pratt. He had aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides. He is preceded in death by his baby sister. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial collection to help close family friend, Amy Pike, who is in need of a lifesaving transplant. Dylan himself was in process to see if he was a matching donor, however the timing of his passing prevented this from happening. Donations may be made to Great Plains Federal Credit Union, Amy Pike Transplant Account, P.O. Box 786, McPherson, KS 67460.
