Suzanne S. Black, departed this world on Friday, February 3, 2023. After a long battle with “old age”, she was 105. Susie, as she preferred to be called, went to her permanent home in God’s Heaven. She was the proud matriarch of a Wichita based family which included 2 children, Dick and Sherry, 2 grands, Charlie and Christy, and 7 greats. Susie was thrilled that her entire family are believers in the Lord, Jesus Christ. She was known in the family as our Prayer warrior. After spending 62 years happily married to Charles N. Black, she was looking forward to being reunited with Chuck. The family recently joined her for a brief church service in her nursing home room. The service included prayers, a short word from Pastor McCrea, and music by Darius Hancock, her 13-year-old grandson. We will all miss her greatly. Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.

Susie was my mother’s best friend. Nina Davis) I remember the many times they visited while we as children played. She was very special to me. I will always remember her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes. Jan Longhofer
We were saddened to learn of Susie’s passing although we know she has joined her loving husband Chuck and is in a better place. What a gracious lady she was. She would light up a room with her smile.
