Terrisa Lynn Compton

October 4, 1956 ~ April 1, 2023
Terrisa Lynn Compton passed away peacefully, Saturday April 1, 2023, surrounded by her husband, Bill, and their eight children, spouses, grandchildren and her ever-devoted, four-legged companion Scooby. She was born to Betty and Jim Palmer on October 4, 1956, growing up in Haysville, Kansas before moving to Wichita where she began her lifelong vocation as a caregiver to many. Terrisa spent her life caring for those around her-her husband of 44 years, children, 27 grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as the dozens of children she watched over the years. She loved the outdoors, especially when water and family were involved - children running through sprinklers, playing at the pool, visiting her folks at the lake and her happy place, Galveston. She was patient, she was kind, she was humble in all things. Her family most fondly remembers her as a listener, counselor, and friend; they remember trips to Grand Lake, back tickles while sick or scared, long visits on the patio, and hundreds of games, performances and school events she would not have missed for the world. Terrisa is survived by her husband, Bill Compton; children, Annette (David) Saunders, Amy (Dave) Degenhardt, Will (Kelly) Compton, Rob (Erin) Compton, Erica (Erich) Rumback, Sara (Shane) Brown, Andrea (Skyler) Marshall, Jake (Jessica) Compton; grandchildren, Cody Saunders, Carley (Hunter) Enyart, Lexi (Dillon) Cott, Delaney Saunders, Nathan (Kristin) Degenhardt, Katie (Gage) Walker, Nick and Emma Degenhardt, Olivia, Holden, and Caroline Compton, William and Kennedy Compton, Vincent, Josef, and Eloise Rumback, Noah, Kaleb, and Henry Compton, Audrey (Andy) Renteria, Dean and Drew Marshall, Christian and Lucas Compton; great-grandchildren, Harvey Degenhardt, Alexander Rumback, Elena Renteria.Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, April 4, 2023; Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 5, 2023, both at All Saints Catholic Church.Memorials have been established with: All Saints Catholic School, 3313 E. So many times some memory comes to mind of Terrisa in our lives: taking care of Tami after school for so long; parties at Erica’s; her smile. We will miss her. Please know that we are praying for her and for all of you and we are here if you need anything.
