McCoy, Virginia L. “Ginny” (Preisser), 90, devoted wife and mother, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Visitation with the family will be 6:30 ~ 7:00 P.M, Friday, August 7, with Rosary following at 7:00 P.M., both at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 8, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Ginny was born July 13, 1919 in Haven, KS to Thomas H. and Anna T. Preisser. She graduated from the St. Francis School of Nursing. She was a Lt. in the Navy, serving as a nurse during WWII. Ginny enjoyed cooking, sewing and bridge playing and was a member of the Agatharians Society and the Monicans. Preceded in death by brothers, Donald, Eugene and Robert Preisser and sister, Marie Blasi. Survivors: husband of 61 years, Dr. Charles P. McCoy; children, Dr. Charles P. and Kathy McCoy, III, Dr. Mary Anne and Steven Chernoff of Lenexa, KS and T. Michael McCoy of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren, Joshua Frey, Rebecca Chernoff, Anna Chernoff and Daniel Chernoff. A memorial has been established with St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1321 Stratford, Wichita, 67206. The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Ray Fisher and Chaucer Estates for their care. Visitation with the family will be 6:30 ~ 7:00 P.M, Friday, August 7, with Rosary following at 7:00 P.M., both at Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
