Harris, Virginia M., 84, lifelong Wichita resident and homemaker, passed on Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Public viewing 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Saturday Sunday at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. She was a member of First Salem United Church of Christ. Survivors: son, Merrill; daughter, Julia and husband, Mike Jennings; 3 grandchildren; brother, Richard Doyle; sister, Ruthelma Moore, all of Wichita. Memorials to Hospice Care of Kansas.

Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
Please accept my profound sympathy at the loss of your family member. I have only known Virginia when she had medical problems however, even near the end, she had a way of surprising me with her sudden alertness. I’ll miss her blue eyes, ornery laugh and her graciousness despite her disabilities. I’m thankful she is finally free of her weak body and I am in awe of the exemplary care she received from her son. Thank you for allowing me to share in Virginia’s life.
