Harry E. Murphy

Harry E. Murphy, 95, joined the Lord on November 10, 2014. Born near Moline, KS, this farmer served with General Eisenhower in WWII as a cryptographer. He later pursued his accounting career that included Senior Accountant for a CPA firm, Office Manager for an auto dealership and Price Analyst for the federal government at Boeing. He retired at age 62 and devoted his time to hunting, fishing and tinkering at his home, which he managed for 50 years. Preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ruth, his son Patrick and grandson, Dylan Thornton. Survived by his daughters, Mignon (David) and Mary (Thomas), both of St. Louis, MO, son Brad (Roseann) of Mount Horeb, WI, and daughter, Lesa Pierce of Wichita. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Vigil will be held on November 13 at 7:00 PM and a Funeral Mass on November 14 at 10:00 AM both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
