Robert J. Hoyer

Robert J. Hoyer, 89, Retired Beechcraft Employee, born May 22, 1927, died Thursday, January 5, 2017. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M., Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 A.M., Monday, January 9, 2017, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by his parents, Hugo and Edna Hoyer; daughter, Linda Hoyer; sister, Elfrieda Strickert. Survived by his wife, Ann Hoyer; sons, Kent (Deb) Hoyer, Dale (Kelley) Hoyer, all from Wichita; grandchildren, Madison (Collin) Chlebak, Dylan Hoyer, Danielle (Ty) Postlewait, Mackenzie Hoyer; great-grandchildren, Harvey and Sullivan Chlebak; sisters, Gloria (Bill) Schueler, Marian Kremeier; brother, Elmer (Sally) Hoyer. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with: Holy Cross Lutheran School Endowment Fund, 600 N. Greenwich, Wichita, KS 67206; Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202. After 38 years at Beechcraft working in Tooling, Bob retired to spend time with his passions. His greatest joy was spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren). Bob was an accomplished bowler and participated in several leagues. He was well known for his woodworking and ability to fix just about anything.
