Robert Edward “Ed” Jones, Jr., 50, was a loving father, husband, son, brother, friend and lead foreman for Caro Construction. He passed away on May 14, 2015, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ed was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and along with Doug Storer, was a founding member of the Cedar Bluff Hunting Club. Ed was a proud Fort Hays State University graduate. He previously worked as a longtime employee of Meyer Brothers Farm in Osage City beside his good friend, Charlie Meyer. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Jones, Sr., and grandparents, Ed and Margaret Jones and Bill and Opal Bolyard. He is survived by wife, Doreen Hull; sons, Austin Jones (Elif) of Washington, DC, Tyler Jones of Colby, Mason Jones of Wichita; mother, Mary Lou Jones of Osage City; sisters, Bobbi Rieck (Bill) of Ankeny, IA, Mary Jane DeHerrera (John) of Wyoming, MI, Connie Call (Jack) of Emporia; granddaughter, Ayla Jones; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral Service, 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 18, Downing Lahey Mortuary West followed by a Graveside Service a 3 p.m., Osage City (KS) American Cemetery.
