Dorothy Jean Parris

Parris, Dorothy Jean, 76, of Wichita, formerly of West Plains, MO and Eudora, KS, retired office manager, died peacefully, Friday, February 25, 2011, at the home of her daughter. Memorial service is 10 a.m., Saturday, March 12 at Downing and Lahey East Mortuary. She was born June 13, 1934, at Niota, IL, to Basil A. and E. Grace (Lamb) Parris. Dorothy loved family, friends and the KU Jayhawks. She was a member of the AMVets Post 98 Ladies Auxiliary in West Plains, MO. She was a Christian. She is survived by her son, Wayne E. Wieneke of West Plains, MO; daughters, Kim J. Brickley of El Dorado, KS and Robin S. Baker of Wichita; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Basil E. Parris and wife JoAnn of Gainsville, MO, Norman K. Parris and wife, Vicky of Parhump, NV, sister, Marjorie E. Kesling of West Plains, MO and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Jerry L. Wieneke, brothers, Danny Parris and Albert Parris, grandson, Caleb Pickens, niece, Tracy L. King Kesling and brother-in-law, Donald E. McClure. Memorials have been established with Hospice Care of Kansas, 808 S. Hillside, Wichita, KS, 67211 and ASPCA, c/o the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS, 67219.
