Marjorie Iona Hoffman

Marjorie (Berkstresser) Hoffman (93) joined other loved ones in Heaven on Sunday, August 21, 2022. She was born October 29, 1928, to John Kenneth and Florence Madeline (Shingler) Berkstresser, and grew up in Seward, Pennsylvania, a small borough near Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She had three younger brothers, William, Ronald “Mike” and Kenneth. She was a 1946 graduate of Johnstown High School in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. On October 25, 1946, she married Robert H. Hoffman in the Seward Methodist Church. She was a long time resident of New Alexandria, PA and Sebring, FL before moving to Wichita, KS. She lived her life believing the words of her Savior, Jesus Christ, when He said, “Ye must be born again.” She worked endlessly to provide a loving home and life for her family, but you could always find her at church where she taught the pre-school Sunday School Class for many years at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Greensburg, PA. She also was an active member of Whispering Pines Baptist Church and later a member of the Spring Lake Baptist Church both of Sebring, FL. Marge is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William Berkstresser; daughter, Patricia McCullough; and one great-grandson Quinten McCullough. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Robert of Wichita; brothers, Kenneth Berkstresser of Dearborn, MI, Ronald “Mike” Berkstresser of New Florence, PA; her daughter, Kathy (Max) Clayton of Wichita; son-in-law, David McCullough of Rose Hill, KS; five grandchildren, Katrina (Walt) Cannon and Lisa McCullough of Wichita, KS, Holly (Eric) Rook of Overland Park, ,KS, Heidi (Michael) Sizemore of Denver, CO, Phillip (Nicolette) McCullough of Thurman, IA; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at Aldersgate United Methodist Church on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. A memorial has been established with: Susan G.
