Gail McConnell

Gail McConnell, 75, loved to travel no trip was too small or too long. Later in life as her mobility threatened to curtail her love of travel, she discovered the world of cruising, and taking road trips. Just last year she chased the Colorado River from Colorado to Nevada. She retired from McConnell Air Force Base Public Affairs Office. Gail enjoyed working and meeting people. She followed her husband all over the world during his time in the United States Air Force. She especially enjoyed their time in Iran and Germany. She was evacuated from Iran during the Iranian Revolution. During her time as Secretary to the Chief of Police in Rapid City, S.D. she discovered her organizational skills and became Ms Gail. This skill was used the remainder of her life, much to the annoyance of her husband.Ms Gail died Wednesday, November 30, 2022. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Friday, December 9, 2022, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 pm, at Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cottonwood Falls, KS.Preceded in death by her parents, Nicholaus and Betty Caro; and sister, Dorothy Caro. Survived by her husband, Michael McConnell; daughter, Michelle (Phillip Delfelder) McConnell; grandchild, Jarrett McConnell. She is also survived by brothers, David (Deonne), Michael (Nancy), and Peter (Toni); sisters, Elaine, Marion (Timothy Coultis), and Jeannie (Mike Gehrer).It takes a very special person to live the life she lived; she is loved and is already missed.
To my mom I love you more then words can say.
You took around the world with you when ever you had business trip Germany you always took me with . You always said so I could see the world. I miss more then words can say.
I will miss our phone calls and laughing about all the fun we had in Germany. God’s blessings sent to the McConnell family. We will meet each other in heaven. Love sent and watch over us.
To my First First cousin I mourn your loss and I regret not seeing you more.
