Vaunelle Burris

Vaunelle Burris, 88, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 3, 2023. Vaunelle was born to J. W. Kincannon and Lucille Andreas on March 7, 1935, in Olustee, Oklahoma. She graduated from Wichita North High School in 1953. Vaunelle married Donald Burris on February 23, 1957, in Wichita. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Colonial Heights Assembly of God Church, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Don Kincannon and Thomas Kincannon; and grandson, Justin Whiterock. Survived by her husband of 66 years, Donald Burris of Peck, KS; daughters, Vickie Burris of Belle Plaine, KS, Donnelle (Bobby) Holmes of Haysville, KS, Carolyn (Don) Choc of St. Louis, MO; sister, Linda Armitage of Wichita; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
