Bess Christian

Bess Christian, 92, passed away December 20, 2023. The daughter of Greek immigrants, Bess was born in The Bronx and grew up in Westchester County, NY. A native New Yorker, she met the love of her life, Ted, in her hometown while Ted was on vacation in 1956. When they married, Bess moved halfway across the country to Ted’s hometown of Wichita, KS where they spent the next 55 years together raising their family. Bess retired from Boeing in 2005 after a 22-year career, all while simultaneously obtaining her Associate’s Degree. The most important thing in Bess’s life was her family, and she devoted herself to them wholeheartedly. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Bess will be remembered by all for her kindness, generosity, and big heart. Bess was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Wichita, Kansas. Preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband Ted of 55 years. Survivors include her daughters, Debi (Brian) Corrigan, Dana Christian; son, Christopher Christian; grandchildren, Christian (Nicole) Corrigan, and Zoe Corrigan. Trisagion and Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary followed by a private graveside service for family.
