John "Scott" Wilson, 71, passed peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2024. He was larger than life, a music lover, and a storyteller. His family was most important to him, his German Shepards a close second.
The celebration of life will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. The service will be live streamed and available to watch by clicking “Watch Event.”
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia Wilson; nephew, Jordan. Survived by his wife, Linda Wilson; children, Shannon (Bryan) Vance, Charles Wilson, Jennifer (Nick Bunch) Wilson; grandchildren, Audrey, Kayleigh, Paige, Ghavin, Torin, Landon, Charlie, Harper; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Paxton, Azai; brother, Todd (Chris) Wilson; nephews, Luke, Shawn, Tyler, Cody; nieces, Georgia, Katie.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with: The Ash House c/o Kansas Area Assembly, 8791 W. 106th Terr., Overland Park, KS 66212.

Scott was a great friend and I have great memories of our early college days. My best to Linda and the family on his passing. RIP buddy.

All I can remember right now is that there was no joy too small or problem too little that Scott would not stop to try to help or focus—listen with his heart and echo yours. Sometimes a little supportive, simple advice. But mostly just give you the gift of his experience, caring, love. And always, always a laugh and a hug straight from his enormous loving soul. . .
