Dorothy Inez Bellinger, 101, died July 4, 2026. Born March 20, 1925 on a farm in Ellsworth Kansas, the oldest of 5 children born to William B. and Ruth Marie (Becker) Handlin. After high school she married and moved to N.Y. for a few years where her daughter Eloise was born, then moved to Green Mtn. Falls, Colorado where she sold real estate for approx. 50 years, becoming one of the top real estate sales persons in the area.

After retirement and past divorce, Dorothy moved to Wichita to be close to family.  She loved collecting all kinds of keys, growing flowers, and feeding the birds, especially the hummingbirds. She was also a lifetime member of the Snowflake Chapter Order of the Easter Star.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Eloise and Charles Hayden, sister MaryLou Brown, numerous nieces and nephews and their children and children’s children and a wealth of friends.  Preceded in death by parents, brothers Bill and Ray Handlin and sister Elrene (Evans) Smith.

In lieu of service, Dorothy has requested donations be made to the Ellsworth Senior Center, 115 E. N. Main St., Ellsworth, KS 67439 or the JH Robbins Memorial Library, 219 N. Lincoln Ave., Ellsworth, KS 6767439.

Cremation service was performed at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary, Wichita, KS.
