Carol Sue Hazelton, 84, passed Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Preceded in death by her son, James Harry Hazelton III; parents, Dwight and Lucille Knight. Survived by her husband, James “Jim” Hazelton Jr.; daughters, Crystal (Bob) Ryan, Lori (Jim) Bell, Chandra (Tony) Elassais; grandchildren, Jamie (Blake) Solomon, Jordan Ryan, Dallas Ryan, Nathan (Natasha) Lyon, Marina (Jeremy) Krubsack, and Sage (Farrah) Elassais; and great grandchildren, Olive and Birk Solomon. A beloved wife of 68 years to her one and only love, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Carol was known for her warmth and generosity. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome with her heartfelt hugs and delicious meals. Carol loved to cook and host gatherings, creating lasting memories for her family. Her artistic spirit shone through in her paintings, reflecting her love of nature and wildlife. Above all, she cherished her grandkids and great-grandkids, along with her dogs who brought her immense joy. Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in our hearts. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 10:00 am at College Hill United Methodist Church at 2930 E 1st Street N in Wichita, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st St, Ste 800, Miami, FL 33131; and Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N Hillside, Wichita KS 67219. Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
