Cathy Sue Sanders (Mourning) 1950 – 2026.

Cathy Sue Sanders (Mourning) passed away October 8, 2026.

Cathy started in the medical field at a young age. She devoted 30 years of her career to Wesley Medical Center before retiring in 2006. In retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling abroad to Alaska, Scotland and Holland.

In her younger years, Cathy enjoyed sewing clothes for herself and her young family.

Cathy loved to watch hockey games. She enjoyed dragging the girls on a school night to watch The Wichita Wind and later a Wichita Thunder season ticket holder with her husband, Ron.

Cathy was often found barefoot playing in the dirt as she lovingly called gardening, raising house plants and tending to her violets.

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 40 years Ron Mourning.

She is survived by her two daughters, Crystal Travaille (Savanah, GA), and Tiffany Biggs (Harper, KS); younger brothers, Steven Sanders (SC) and Kevin Sanders (AZ). Her love for antiques and garage sales lives on through her daughters, 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
