Dan “Poppy” Doffing, 77, Window Foreman at Star Lumber & Supply Company for 20 plus years, died Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
Rosary will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Graveside service to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents, George and Winifred Doffing. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Doffing; daughters, Leann Wheeler (Kirk), Lisa Doffing (Jason), Dana Bohnenblust (Kyle); grandchildren, Mckenzie Horsch, Nolan Brackin, Tyler Brackin, Isaac Childress, Brynlee Childress; five great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105

Dana, Judy, Lisa, LeAnn, and McKenzie — I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Dan was truly an incredible man. I have so many fond memories of being at your house almost every day growing up. Dana and I were always getting into something — probably things we shouldn’t have been — and I can still picture Dan just smiling and shaking his head at us.
I remember how proud he was of his old car, too. He was such a great man and will be deeply missed. Many thoughts and prayers for you all today and the coming days!
