Dana M. (Johnson) Kraft, 71, passed away on July 12, 2026.

Dana dedicated her life to caring for others through her passion for radiology. She began her career as a radiologic technologist before fulfilling her dream of becoming a radiologist. She spent many years serving patients at Wesley Medical Center, where she built a long, distinguished, and rewarding career before retiring.

Dana married the love of her life, Wayne “Butch” Kraft, and together they shared a marriage filled with love and companionship. They were truly inseparable. Following Butch’s passing in 2007, Dana returned to Wichita to be closer to her family. She developed a close and cherished bond with her brother, Barry, and became an important presence in the lives of her family, especially her great-nieces and great-nephews. Whether celebrating milestones, offering encouragement, or simply spending time together, Dana treasured her family above all else. Her love for them was unwavering and she was deeply loved in return.

Dana was preceded in death by her parents, Charles C. and Ruth Allene Johnson; her beloved husband, Wayne “Butch” Kraft; her sister Regina “Jean” Trapp; and her niece Kristina Johnson.

She is survived by her brothers, Bill (Elaine) Johnson, and Barry Johnson, both of Wichita; her nephew, Aaron (Kelli) Trapp of Wichita; her nieces, Aimee (Allan) Osterman of Boerne, TX, Andrea (TC) Bodwell of Wichita, Kara (Dustin) Suffield of Derby and Cynthia (Steven) Stabler of Wichita, along with several cherished great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. A graveside will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Ninnescah Cemetery, Udall, Kansas.

May those beautiful memories bring smiles to your faces, even behind tears shed. Know that death was never God’s plan (Gen. 1:28; Rom. 5:12), so he gives us hope; the hope that loved ones will be resurrected (Acts 24:15) to life forever on a paradise earth (Ps. 37:11,29) as God intended from the beginning. Cherish the hope and the countless fine memories of Dana.
