With a very sad heart, I share with you Dale’s wife, Dana passed away Sunday, September 6th.

Dana died from vascular dementia. She was 64 years old. Dana was mostly in the hospital, then in hospice care during the month of August.

Dale and Dana celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on Aug 5th. They met and fell in love while attending epilepsy support group meetings. After marrying, they lived in Colorado for 4 years, then returned to make a home and raise their family in Wichita KS.

Dale and Dana have three children, Molly Michota and her husband Lee who live in Fort Collins, CO. Ryan, who moved home to help care for his mother. Lindsey Deer and her husband Nathan live in Chunchula, AL; they have two children, Sofia and Nathaniel.

Dana was an incredible woman, she never let her disability hold her back, she was kind and head strong.

Memorial Service will be at 10:00 am, Monday September 14, 2026, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.

  2. Dana was my second cousin. She used to babysit me when I was a kid, and I always liked going to her house. She even bought Girl Scout cookies from my daughter and was always so nice and welcoming. She loved her children and grandchildren so much. I’m sorry to her husband Dale also, they were so close. Love you Dana!

  3. In her early years, Dana Lynn attended The Institute of Logopedics (now Heartspring). This is where my family “The Pennington’s” met Dana’s parents Dr. George & Martha Lewis. Additional neighbors were “The Norsworthy’s” who were from England, Arkansas and had a son that also attended the Institute. The three families developed a deep friendship over many years that made us all feel like family and not just friends. I will always remember Miss Dana with a happy smile and who always had open arms ready to give a big hug. Sending my deepest sympathies to her husband Dale, her children Molly, Ryan, and Lindsey. Also sending my love to her two brothers Scott and Mark. May her soul rest in peace. AMEN
