Dorothy Jo Sharrick

Sharrick, Dorothy Jo, 95, long time resident of Wichita, died November 14, 2006 at the Medicalodge of Goddard. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Monday, November 20 at Maple Grove Cemetery. Dorothy was born on January 23, 1911 to Howard Alfred Sharrick and Myrtle Bell (Neeld) Sharrick. While she was growing up her family lived in Missouri, California and Nebraska. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1938, she and her parents moved to Wichita where she worked for the Morris Plan in downtown Wichita until she was 70 years old. Dorothy was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist and served as the treasurer for many years. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and the Order of Eastern Star. Dorothy will be remembered for her spunky and happy spirit. She was an avid collector of various items and enjoyed sharing them with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Alfred Neeld Sharrick. Survivors include two nephews, Jack Sharrick of Midland, Texas and Tom Sharrick of Houston, Texas and one niece, Susan Mossberg of Longmont, Colorado. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
