Doug S. Hermann, born December 2, 1960, ascended to heaven on August 13, 2026.
Doug was born in Wichita, Kansas to Leo and Rose Hermann. He married his wife, Sally, in 1993. Together they traveled to many places enjoying the different cultures, history and sandy beaches. Doug retired from Dillons/Empire as a meat buyer.
Doug was so very proud of his two sons, Matthew and Derek. He was a great provider in many aspects that have helped them succeed in many ways.
Doug loved fishing with his parents, uncle and aunt at Roaring River. He introduced his guy friends to fishing at Roaring River and loved the memories they all made. Doug was a youth director at Immanuel for 10 years and supported many organizations that he was passionate about. He was a true giver to others.
Doug is survived by his wife, Sally; sons, Matthew (Mercedes) Rufle, Derek Rufle; grandchildren, Caius, Abigail and Orion.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm, Friday, August 21, 2026, at Ascension Lutheran Church, with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Ascension Lutheran Church, 842 North Tyler Road, Wichita, Kansas 67212.

We will miss him at our breakfasts and especially will miss his quick-witted sarcasm which made us laugh, even when it was directed at us. We had so much fun at those breakfasts with him!
Friends like Doug are rare to find. Even though we will miss him dearly, we will always continue to carry him in our hearts.
