Edwin Curtis Hamlin, affectionately known to family and friends as “Ed,” passed away on October 4, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 71.
Born on May 24, 1955, in Sheridan, Wyoming, Ed grew up with a creative spirit, a strong work ethic, and a lifelong curiosity for how things worked. He graduated from Dodge City High School in 1973.
A true craftsman and enthusiast, Ed had a deep love for aviation—a passion that culminated in building his own ultralight airplane. Ed worked for over 30 years as broadcast engineer at KSN. He was equally at home working on classic Mopar restorations, taking pride in restoring muscle cars and sharing them at car shows. He loved the freedom of riding his motorcycle, the fellowship of his church community, and above all, being the kind of neighbor who was always ready to lend a helping hand, a tool, or a friendly word.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Walter E. and Opal Hamlin; his first wife, Cheryl (Reimer) Hamlin; and his wife, Barbara (Loker) Hamlin.
He is survived by his loving children, daughter Katie and son Eddie; his two cherished grandchildren; his brother, Greg; his sister, Kristy; as well as many extended family members, neighbors, and dear friends who will deeply miss his warm presence and helpful spirit.

Ed was a great guy who helped many times at our Wichita Area Mopar events. Ed shared is love of Mopar’s and Radio with me on many occasions and that will be missed. Our deepest condolences to all of Ed’s family.
Best Wishes, Ron Mayes
Learning your best man has passed away has really hit me, it really makes me sad. He helped train me when I 1st joined the staff at KSN. He was so proud of his bike, he kept it in his 2nd floor apartment’s living room.
God bless him and may the good lord ease the pain and sorrow his family feels at this time.
