Flora Margaret Lovell

April 29, 1919 ~ February 14, 2005
Lovell, Flora “Margaret”, 85, daughter of Otto and Veryl White Appenfeller, sister of Russell, Dale and Evelyn, all of whom preceded her in death, died peacefully at a Wichita hospice on February 14, 2005. Margaret was born on a farm near Eskridge, Kansas on April 29, 1919, graduated from Eskridge High School in 1937 and married Raymond L. Lovell that same year. They moved “to town” (Topeka) in 1944 where they made their home until his death in 1997. She moved to Wichita in 1998. Her life was devoted to family, church, and community. A member of Potwin Presbyterian since 1947, she served as elder and deacon. Fortunate were those who were recipients of her pie-making and seamstress skills. After many years of being a homemaker, Margaret worked as administrative secretary for the Community Resources Council. Survivors: Daughters: Loretta Phares (Alan) of Wichita, Donna Morrow (Michael) of Orchard Park, NY; Grandchildren: Rod Phares (Gigi) and Tim Phares (Melaina), all of Wichita; Christina Phares and husband, Colin, of Atlanta, GA, Amy Santucci (Frank) of Honeoye Falls, NY, Jody Morrissette (Joel) of Beaverton, OR, and Jeffrey Morrow of Orchard Park, NY; Great grandchildren: Tina, Lydia, Claire, Adam, Elena, Lily, Ian, Boyd, Jesse and Audrey. Visitation: Wednesday from 6-8 PM, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Graveside service: Thursday, 2 PM, Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka, reception following at Potwin Presbyterian Church.
