Gerdes, Fred W., 94, retired Beach Aircraft Technician, died Saturday, June 3, 2006. Services 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 7, 2006, Downing Lahey East Mortuary. Survivors: Daughter and Son-in-law; Deanna (Gene) Schaaf, Paola, KS, Brother; Everett LaVerne Gerdes, Oberlin, KS, Grandchildren; Kendall Schaaf and Kari Wallentine. Fred was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite and Son Kenneth. Memorial donation may be made to: Catholic Care Center, 6700 E. 45th N., Bel Aire, KS or Kansas 4-H Foundation, Inc., 116 Umbarger Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506
Mr. Gerdes will be available for viewing from 5:00 P.M. Monday til service time. Services will be 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, June 7, 2006.

Fred Gerdes contributed to the Andover community. He assisted my sons in 4H learn woodworking. I have good memories of him, his wife, Deanna and Kenny. It was a great sorrow to lost Kenny at such a early age and so tragically.
