Johnsen, George Olaf, 83, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, (Mesothelioma) on April 15th 2005. George was born in Rowe, Illinois on November 15th 1921. After returning from England and serving as a crewmember on a B-17 in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945 during WW II, he met and married the love of his life, Bertha Felder, settling in Wichita with a new career at The Boeing Aircraft Company in 1949, where he worked until his retirement on January 1st of 1984. He was in program planning and control as a changeboard chairman. He will be remembered for the love of his family and aviation. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 56 years Bertha; daughter and son-in-law, Pat Steve Malcom and son John Johnson, all of Andover; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Laura Gay Johnsen and David and Mary Alice Johnsen all of Wichita; sister, Joann Gordon of Streator, Illinois; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Elizabeth Johnsen, sister, Ruth Johnsen and brother Eyler Johnsen. Rosary 7:00 PM on Monday at Church of the Magdalen, Mass and Services 10:00 AM, Tuesday at Church of the Magdalen. Memorials have been established with the American Cancer Society, 435 S. Broadway, S-100, Wichita, KS, 67202 and Parkinson Disease Support Group of Wichita, 200 S. Walnut, Wichita, KS, 67213. Vigil 7:00 P.M., Monday, Church of the Magdalen.
