It is with sadness and love that we remember Jim, a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend who passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Jim lived a life filled with wonderful experiences, memorable adventures and an appreciation for things that brought him joy. He had a special appreciation for travel, fine dining and shopping for unique and interesting items, always enjoying the thrill of finding something a little different and special.

For much of his professional life, Jim lived and worked in San Francisco as Vice President of Consumer Financing for Wells Fargo Bank. In retirement, he moved to Cathedral City, California where he happily spent the rest of his life enjoying the warmth and sunshine of Southern California.

Jim was a devoted son to his mother, a loving brother and a beloved uncle. He was predeceased by his sister, Donna and her husband Bill Ayers, as well as his parents James Arthur Dye and Opal Bettis Dye Nibarger, all of Wichita, Kansas.

He is survived by his loving sister, Janet Ritz, of Spring Branch, Texas as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, his devoted partner and friend, Albert Jacobo, and all who called him a friend.

Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to Mae and her family/team at Pillars of Care in Cathedral City for the excellent, loving and tender care they provided during the last six months of Jim’s life. Their compassion, kindness and dedication brought comfort and peace during a difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Jim. May you forever enjoy the sunshine, wherever your journey takes you.
