Joan Peterson

Peterson, Mrs. Joan, 80, of Wichita, died Sunday, January 1, 2006. Graveside service 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 6, Maple Grove Cemetery. Joan was born July 20, 1925 in Sapulpa, OK, the daughter of the late George and Dorotha (Drake) Ismert. She was raised in Larned, KS and later moved to Chickasha, OK where she attended Oklahoma College for Women. She was married to the late Lester Peterson in Cambridge Springs, PA. She lived in Delaware, Colorado, Illinois, Montana and Wyoming. In later years, she farmed in Centerville, PA. She is survived by three sons; David Peterson, of Valparaiso, IN, James Peterson and Douglas Peterson, both of Leawood, KS; one daughter, Jane Peterson of Plano, TX; one grandson, Joel Peterson; two brothers, James Ismert of Wichita, KS and Gene Ismert of Navasota, TX. A memorial has been established with the Salvation Army, 350 N. Market, Wichita, KS, 67202. Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Graveside service 11:00 A.M., Friday, Maple Grove Cemetery.
