John M. Roberts

Roberts, John M, 82, retired home builder and Realtor passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2006, in Boston, Massachusetts after a brief illness. Mr. Roberts was born and grew up in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. He was the youngest son of Arabella Paris Hamman and William Asbury Roberts. Mr. Roberts served in the Army Air Force during World War II. Mr. Roberts married Marcella Jean Stewart in 1950 in Winfield, Kansas where he began his career as a home builder. After moving to Wichita he worked as a realtor and builder. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed building furniture and cabinetwork and doing woodturning for family and friends. He was a 33 degree member of the Masonic Lodge in Wichita. A memorial service will be held at Downing Lahey Mortuary on Wednesday, March 7 at 12:30 P.M., followed by a graveside service in Oxford, Kansas. He is survived by his son J. Stewart Roberts, his wife Karla Johnson, and their two children Megan Roberts, and Hannah Roberts all of Carlisle, Mass, and son Richard M. Roberts and his son, Ian Roberts, of Kansas City and sister, Ora Chancellor of Shawnee, OK. Graveside service Oxford, Kansas
