Karen Ann Goldberg, 82, loving partner, companion, best friend, and mother, died Friday, March 6, 2026.

“Mommy” Karen loved her family the most. She was the first to share her love and support with a smile, hug, and probably a homemade cappo! She loved her animals, antiquing, gardening, Gin (the card game!), and being outside on nice weather days. Her heart was big and her positiveness, kindness, and love impacted many. “Mommy” Karen will be missed, but never forgotten.

Preceded in death by her parents, Gengell and Virginia Wilson; son, Jeff Boll.

Survived by her companion, Randy Smithson; daughters, Valerie Boll, Whitney Goldberg; sons, Donnie Vaughan, Zachary Goldberg; grandchildren, Caleb (Janelle) Wilson, Cana (Brett) Mize, Jaden (Chris) Weatherford, Cole Newfarmer, Violet Goldberg; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Mize, Harrison Mize, Callahan Mize; sister, Ardath Kimmich; nieces and nephews, Darin Carney, Brian (Julie) Carney, Peter Carney, Sheila Carney, Mara (Brian) Bruce, Keir Carney, and their families.

Arrangements in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary – East Chapel.

Guestbook

  1. Val, Donny, Zach & Whitney,
I am so sorry for your loss. Karen was such a light in our lives, and was always so welcoming and generous. I loved her sense of humor and really enjoyed the time I got to spend with her. She will be dearly missed. She loved you all so much.

  2. I decided to look Karen up today to reconnect. I am so sorry to read this. I used to take my kids to Dr. Goldberg’s back in the 90s and she was always so friendly and kind. I am so sorry for your loss.
